Overview

The Event Staff position is a part-time, on-campus job with a flexible schedule. Responsibilities include collaborating as a team and working independently to guarantee the smooth operation of events hosted by USUE.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and take down tables, chairs, staging, and event equipment
  • Assist with room layout, table settings, and decor for catered events
  • Serve food and beverages in a professional and courteous manner
  • Polish tableware, maintain cleanliness of service areas, and perform laundry duties as needed
  • Greet guests and provide excellent customer service throughout events
  • Monitor event flow and communicate with team members to resolve issues quickly
  • Ensure all tasks are completed in line with campus and safety guidelines
  • Qualifications

  • Customer service skills, comfortable in large crowds
  • Proficiency in following both written and verbal instructions.
  • Keen attention to detail with a willingness to assist as needed.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively.

    This position requires working both indoors and outdoors in a variety of event settings. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on event schedules. Event Staff must be able to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods
  • Lift and carry up to 30 pounds
  • Perform repetitive tasks such as setting tables or folding linens
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Interact professionally with guests and team members
  • Follow detailed instructions and stay focused in busy or loud environments
  • Maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance at all times
