Job Description
- Control of work ticket system between engineering and technician teams to ensure jobs are staffed promptly and effectively.
- This also requires exposure of labour to different areas of the Component & Systems business to promote skill diversity.
- Assists team members in interpreting and completing tasks.
- Conducts reviews with Engineering team as required.
- Helps to prioritise and hand over work between shifts.
- Motivate and mentor team members to achieve and exceed departmental goals.
- Promote a can-do attitude and a positive working environment.
- Conduct Objective Setting and Mid-Year Reviews for the technician team.
- Facilitate/support to ensure update of all SQCDP data relevant to the technician team.
- Control of Workplace Inspections relevant to the technician team ensuring tasks are completed on time and follow up actions are closed out.
- Leads aspects of laboratory maintenance and repair.
- Works with Site Services on issues surrounding laboratory maintenance or repairs.
- Highlight, report and rectify safety issues in the laboratory.
- Approve working hours (timesheets), and holiday requests for the technician team.
- Continue and improve initiatives to reduce waste and optimize efficiency.
- Assisting technician team in procurement and ordering of consumables.
- Reporting to and supporting the Senior Manager Component & Systems Leyland.
- Collaboration with other Laboratory Supervisors both in Leyland and Bedford sites to develop best practices and awareness of Health & Safety and Quality issues.
- Act in accordance with the behaviours for UTAC staff at all times.
Skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, approachable.

- High level of IT literacy, particularly Word & Excel.

- Experience in automotive and/or testing background.
