London, UK (Hybrid working model) Full-time / Permanent, willing to consider contractors inside IR35 Immediate Joiners We are seeking an experienced Transition Programme Director to lead the successful delivery of high-value, complex IT programme transitions within the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) sector. This is a senior strategic role requiring strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and deep domain knowledge to ensure smooth, effective transitions with minimal disruption to business operations.

The Role:

  • Lead and manage large-scale programme transitions, with deal values exceeding $40 million, across multiple geographies and functions within the BFSI sector.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive transition strategies that ensure continuity, compliance, and cost-efficiency.
  • Engage proactively with senior internal and external stakeholders, building strong, trust-based relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Ensure robust governance, risk management, and financial controls are embedded throughout the programme lifecycle.
  • Oversee all aspects of transition delivery including team leadership, communication, change management, budget control, and performance monitoring.
  • Drive cultural alignment and cross-functional collaboration to enable successful adoption and delivery of services post-transition.
  • Manage and mitigate risks effectively while maintaining strong compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a strategic advisor, contributing to the continuous improvement of transition methodologies and best practices.

  • Proven track record of delivering IT programme transitions valued over $40 million.
  • Deep understanding of governance frameworks, compliance obligations, financial controls, and stakeholder management in the BFSI sector.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to influence and inspire across business and technical teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity, resolve complex issues, and think strategically under pressure.
  • Experience in managing transition timelines, SLAs, and KPIs to ensure business continuity and minimal disruption.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the UK to client sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications:
