We’re looking for an experienced Senior Database Engineer to join our growing team in London. You’ll design, optimize, and manage large-scale database solutions across on-premises and cloud (Azure) environments.
The Role
- Design, manage, and tune Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases.
- Optimize database performance, queries, and indexes.
- Administer and support Azure SQL Server and Azure Managed Instances.
- Develop and maintain SSRS reports and SSIS integration packages.
- Troubleshoot database issues and ensure high availability, security, and disaster recovery.
- Work closely with developers and operations teams to improve database efficiency.
- Mentor junior engineers and share best practices.
- Support database migrations, upgrades, and cloud adoption.
What You Will Bring
- Minimum of 10+ years in database engineering and performance tuning.
- Expert in Oracle PL/SQL, SQL Server T-SQL, and indexing strategies.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure SQL and cloud database services.
- Proficient in SSRS, SSIS, and enterprise-grade backup and recovery strategies.
- Experience with high-availability setups (Always On, clustering, replication).
- Knowledge of database security and compliance standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Certifications like Azure Database Administrator or Oracle DBA are a plus.
Nice To Have
- Experience with DevOps, IaC (Infrastructure as Code), CI/CD for databases.
- Knowledge of NoSQL and hybrid cloud environments.
