Observability Engineer with Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana and AWS (Lead II - DevOps Engineering)
Join us at UST as an Observability Engineer with strong expertise in Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, and AWS. This permanent, hybrid role in Nottingham will focus on designing and implementing advanced monitoring solutions to ensure application performance and reliability across complex environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and optimise Dynatrace dashboards to deliver actionable insights.
- Implement observability best practices across metrics, logs, and traces.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to enhance system performance and resilience.
- Troubleshoot complex issues and provide proactive solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Dynatrace expertise: several years of hands‑on experience including advanced dashboard creation.
- Observability tools: strong knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, and time‑series databases.
- APM knowledge: in-depth understanding of application performance monitoring concepts and tools.
- Cloud & containerisation: familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and technologies like Kubernetes.
- Programming & architecture: working knowledge of Java, Python, and microservices architecture.
- Web technologies: understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and networking protocols.
- Problem‑solving: proven ability to analyse and resolve complex technical issues.
- Communication: excellent verbal and written skills to engage both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
