Senior Data Architect | Snowflake & Data Governance

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Architect to lead the design and evolution of a modern enterprise data platform, with Snowflake and Data Governance at its core.
This is a senior, hands-on architecture role where you will shape data strategy, design scalable cloud data solutions, and establish robust governance standards covering data quality, lineage, security, metadata and accessibility.
Experience within Asset Management or Financial Services would be highly advantageous, particularly across portfolio, market, investment or regulatory data.
The Role:
- Architect the Data Platform: Design scalable and high-performing enterprise data solutions using Snowflake, applying Data Vault 2.0, dimensional and other appropriate modelling approaches.
- Lead Data Governance: Establish frameworks for data quality, lineage, cataloguing, metadata management and Master Data Management (MDM).
- Design for Security: Implement Snowflake security capabilities including RBAC, row-level security and dynamic data masking, supporting financial-services and data-privacy requirements.
- Optimise Data Integration: Partner with Data Engineers to design and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines across complex enterprise and financial data sources.
- Drive Snowflake Excellence: Apply Snowflake capabilities including Snowpipe, Streams and Tasks, with a strong focus on performance and cost optimisation.
- Shape Data Strategy: Define architecture standards, principles and roadmaps, translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Influence Senior Stakeholders: Act as the link between engineering teams, data owners and senior business stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For:
- Deep hands-on experience designing and architecting Snowflake solutions.
- Strong expertise in enterprise Data Governance and data-quality frameworks.
- Advanced SQL and strong cloud-platform knowledge, ideally Microsoft Azure, AWS or GCP.
- Expert knowledge of conceptual, logical and physical data modelling.
- Experience with Data Vault 2.0 and/or dimensional modelling.
- Understanding of MDM, data lineage, metadata and data cataloguing.
- Experience with governance/catalogue platforms such as Alation, Collibra or Atlan.
- Strong knowledge of RBAC and enterprise data security.
- Ability to communicate complex architecture decisions to both engineers and senior business stakeholders.
Highly Desirable:
- Experience within Asset Management, Investment Management, Banking or Financial Services.
- Knowledge of portfolio accounting, market data, ESG, investment or regulatory reporting data.
- Snowflake or data-management certifications, such as SnowPro Advanced: Architect or CDMP.
