We are seeking hands-on, detail-oriented Data Center Engineers to support the physical infrastructure of our data center in Slough. This role is critical in maintaining uptime and ensuring the efficient deployment and maintenance of IT equipment. The successful candidate will have experience in racking, stacking, cabling, and hardware support, working closely with remote teams to provide assistance.
Location: Slough, UK
Employment Type: Fixed-Term Contract (6 months)
Work Schedule: Rotational shifts (10:00 – 18:00 & 16:00 – 00:00), Onsite 5 days/week
Key Responsibilities:- Perform racking and stacking of servers, network devices, and storage systems.
- Execute structured cabling (fiber and copper) in accordance with standards and documentation.
- Label, route, and manage cables to maintain a clean, organized environment.
- Assist with hardware replacements, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Provide physical support for remote teams, including device reboots and component swaps.
- Escort vendors and ensure compliance with site access protocols.
- Perform visual inspections and report anomalies such as LED status or cable disconnections.
- Support inventory management by logging equipment movements and updates.
- Experience in network engineering, data centers, and network cabling.
- Knowledge of incident management processes.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to handle hardware installation and movement.
Duration: 6 months (Fixed-Term Contract)
Shift Pattern: Rotational shifts from 10:00 – 18:00 & 16:00 – 00:00 (UK time)
Location: Onsite in Slough, UK, 5 days per week
