Overview
In this role you lead the design and delivery of scalable data platforms across Azure, AWS and GCP, leveraging Snowflake and Databricks. You drive large-scale data migrations and modernisation of greenfield and legacy systems, aligning enterprise data architecture with business strategy. You collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence senior stakeholders, and guide cloud adoption, data governance and advanced analytics. This client-facing position offers strategic leadership with hands-on technical execution in a hybrid Leeds setting.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement enterprise data architecture aligned with business and technology strategy
- Lead large-scale data migration and legacy modernisation initiatives
- Architect and deliver data engineering, analytics, and AI-driven solutions
- Design solutions leveraging hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, GCP) and modern platforms (Snowflake, Databricks)
- Drive solutioning and pre-sales activities including RFIs, RFPs, proposals, and client presentations
- Build and scale data practice capabilities and delivery frameworks
- Provide strategic guidance on cloud adoption, data strategy, governance, and advanced analytics
Key requirements
- 15+ years of experience in data architecture, engineering, and analytics
- Strong expertise in Azure, AWS, and GCP environments
- Proven experience with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks)
- Experience delivering greenfield and brownfield data platform implementations
- Strong track record in pre-sales and solutioning (RFIs, RFPs, client engagement)
- Hands-on exposure to AI/ML within data ecosystems
- Experience building, leading, and mentoring data teams
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills
