Business Analyst – Data Platform (Specialist I – Software Engineering)

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join our Data Platform Programme in London. This role will play a critical part in shaping the future of our data ecosystem by driving requirements gathering, data analysis, and solution design. Acting as the bridge between business stakeholders, data engineers, and solution architects, you will ensure the successful delivery of high-quality data products and analytics capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for data platform initiatives.
- Translate business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements.
- Partner with data engineers, architects, and developers to design scalable, robust solutions.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and elicitation sessions with stakeholders.
- Support initiatives around data migration, governance, and quality.
- Define use cases, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
- Contribute to backlog grooming, sprint planning, and testing within Agile teams.
- Ensure solutions align with business objectives and regulatory standards.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within data-focused projects.
- Strong understanding of data platforms, data lakes, data warehouses, and ETL/ELT processes.
- Hands‑on SQL and data analysis expertise.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data tools.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills.
- Proven track record working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban).
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and compliance (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
- Experience with BI and analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
- Exposure to AI/ML data initiatives.
