We are seeking a motivated and passionate Apprenticeship Tutor to join our team and support apprentices to succeed in both education and employment. This is a rewarding role where you will deliver high-quality technical training, assess learner progress, and provide ongoing guidance and mentoring to ensure apprentices develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to meet industry standards and progress in their careers. You will work with a cohort of learners through classroom delivery and remote contact, ensuring provision meets the requirements of Awarding Organisations, Ofsted and other relevant bodies.

Main Purpose of the Role

  • Deliver high-quality teaching, coaching and learning using current subject knowledge.
  • Plan and prepare Schemes of Work, lesson plans and learning resources aligned to programme standards.
  • Manage a cohort of apprenticeship learners, tracking progress, identifying support needs and preparing learners for End Point Assessment (EPA).
  • Create a positive, inclusive and motivating learning environment where learners feel safe, valued and confident.
  • Embed English, maths, digital skills, Equality & Diversity, Health & Safety, Safeguarding and Fundamental British Values into delivery.
  • Support learners with additional learning needs and provide tailored guidance.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and contribute to quality assurance processes.
  • Participate in staff meetings, Curriculum Leadership Team meetings and continuous professional development activities.
  • Work collaboratively with the Curriculum Lead and Apprenticeships team to support strategic objectives.
  • Promote a strong culture of quality, safeguarding and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with curriculum requirements.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on student progress.
  • Provide academic guidance and pastoral support to help every learner succeed.
  • Make effective use of digital platforms (e.g. Teams, Google Classroom) and emerging tools such as AI to enhance student learning and feedback.
  • Participate in curriculum development, open events, interviews, and student induction activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and support continuous improvement.
  • Uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health and safety policies.

About You

Essential

  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, CertEd, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent).
  • Occupational competence and industry experience in a relevant apprenticeship sector.
  • Good standard of English, maths and ICT skills.
  • Experience teaching, training, coaching or mentoring young people or adults.
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable

  • Assessor qualification (CAVA, A1, TAQA) or willingness to work towards one.
  • Experience delivering apprenticeship programmes or vocational qualifications.
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship standards, frameworks and funding requirements.
