Main Purpose of the Role: To deliver safe, effective, and enjoyable fitness classes and support the health and wellbeing of participants, ensuring every session is inclusive, motivating, and tailored to a range of abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality group fitness classes (e.g., aerobics, HIIT, spin, yoga, circuits, or strength-based sessions).
- Provide clear instruction, demonstration, and encouragement to participants of all fitness levels.
- Ensure a safe and welcoming environment, carrying out necessary health and safety checks.
- Offer advice, guidance, and modifications to meet individual needs.
- Maintain professional standards of conduct, punctuality, and appearance.
- Promote healthy lifestyles and encourage members to stay active outside of class.
- Support the wider fitness team as required.
About You:
Essential:
- Recognised Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience delivering group fitness classes.
- Good knowledge of health, safety, and safeguarding in a fitness environment.
- Strong communication and motivational skills.
- Ability to adapt sessions to suit a range of fitness levels and abilities.
- Flexible and reliable with a professional approach.
Desirable:
- Level 3 Personal Training qualification.
- First Aid certificate.
- Experience in delivering a variety of class formats (e.g., spin, yoga, dance fitness, circuits).
- Experience working in a leisure, community, or educational setting.
- Confidence using music and technology in classes.
