The Opportunity
At UserTesting, the Developer Experience (DX) team builds the internal platforms and tools that engineers use to build, test, and ship software. Our goal is simple: make it easy for engineers to ship high-quality software quickly and safely. We treat this as a product — engineers are our users, and adoption matters as much as technical excellence. This role is ideal for a backend engineer interested in growing into developer experience and platform engineering. You’ll contribute to improving developer workflows—including CI/CD, internal tooling, and automation—while continuing to build production backend systems.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain backend services and internal tools that support engineering workflows
- Contribute to CI/CD systems and improvements to how software is built and deployed
- Identify and help address friction in the development lifecycle through automation
- Work with experienced DX engineers to deliver platform improvements
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand needs and improve developer experience
- Support AI-enabled improvements in developer workflows where useful
What We’re Looking For
- Solid experience building backend systems in production
- Proficiency in Node.js, Python, or Go
- Experience working with APIs and cloud-based systems
- Interest in CI/CD, infrastructure, or developer tooling
