Deadline: Noon on 15 May 2026
Salary: £67,595 pa. There are no set hours for this position, and the postholder will be expected to be adaptable and flexible to meet the needs of the job. The postholder will be required to live within 50 miles of Head Office. Overnight stays may be required.
Location: Head Office, Salford Quays, M50 3XZ. Please note that this position is fully office based.
The Union of Shop, Distributive and Allied Workers is one of the UKs largest trade unions. A vacancy exists for a Deputy Head of Finance (Membership Records) based at the Unions Head Office.

Principal duties are: under the direction of the Central Treasurer, to manage and direct the work of the Membership Records team within the Finance Department, including all aspects of Union membership data and payments, ensuring all functions are administered effectively and efficiently.
The successful applicant will possess:
- a detailed understanding of Union rules relating to the admission or cessation of membership, political membership and entitlement to benefits;
- an understanding of staff management, training and development;
- a strong understanding of data management principles and data protection legislation and its application;
- confidence in managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines;
- strong judgement, initiative and problem-solving skills;
- the ability to motivate teams and build a positive culture.
