The Union of Shop, Distributive and Allied Workers is one of the UKs largest trade unions. A vacancy exists for a Senior Administrator based at the Unions Leeds Office.

Principal duties are:
- To provide secretarial support to the Regional Secretary
- To provide a typing and administrative service to Area Organisers, assisting in the provision of help and advice to members
- To supervise the work of the Administrators
- In the absence of the Regional Office Manager, be responsible for the supervision of all the administrative staff
The successful applicant will possess:
- Good typing speed and knowledge of audio and copy typing
- IT literacy: knowledge of Microsoft Office products and the use of databases
- An ability to manage and motivate staff
- Well-developed planning and organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines
- The ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people by telephone, in writing and in person
- An understanding of data protection and confidentiality
