The Union of Shop, Distributive and Allied Workers is one of the UK’s largest trade unions. A vacancy exists for an Internal Audit, Compliance & Project Co-ordinator based at the Union’s Head Office. What we Offer: * Flexitime * 34 hours week * Defined contribution pension. * Generous holiday entitlement – 24 days rising to 32 days plus bank and customary holidays (pro-rata to commencing month in holiday year and number of days a week worked). * Free onsite parking, subject to availability. * Cycle to Work Scheme (subject to passing probation and length of contract) * Season Ticket Loan (subject to length of contract). * Free health assessments (post probation). Principal duties are: under the general supervision of the Internal Audit, Risk & Compliance Officer (IARCO) to contribute to the effective delivery of an Internal Audit service to the organisation and undertake ad hoc project work as required; contribute to the identification of organisational compliance and risk issues; cover the duties of the IARCO in their absence. The successful applicant will possess: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)/Chartered Membership of the Institute of Internal Auditors (CMIIA) or working towards either designation; experience of working within an audit environment; knowledge of accounts and audit software; proficiency in Microsoft Office packages eg Word, Excel and PowerPoint; the ability to manage their own workload and prioritise work in order to meet deadlines; the ability to assist the IARCO in monitoring and developing the systems, processes and procedures of the Section, making suggestions on improvements as required.
