We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at our Wakefield Fulfilment Centre. You will be the site expert for PLC-controlled automation, ensuring that conveyors, sortation systems, and material handling equipment (MHE) operate at peak efficiency. You will troubleshoot live system faults, optimise code, and support continuous improvement projects across the EU Controls network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and repair PLC-controlled automation systems
  • Work with conveyors, sortation systems, and MHE
  • Provide data visualisations of equipment performance to stakeholders
  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects
  • Install and commission new equipment with global colleagues
  • Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Support other EU sites as needed

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience with Siemens or Allen-Bradley PLCs
  • Experience with conveyors, sortation, or material handling equipment
  • SCADA experience (Ignition preferred)
  • Knowledge of Profinet, Profibus, or Ethernet/IP
  • Willingness to work night shifts and travel occasionally
