An established insurer is investing heavily in the evolution of its core technology landscape - specifically Guidewire and is looking to appoint a senior technology leader to guide the delivery of strategic platform initiatives. This role is suited to someone who combines deep technical knowledge of Guidewire with strong leadership skills and enjoys working across architecture, engineering and business teams to deliver complex enterprise programmes. You will play a key role in shaping technical direction, driving engineering standards and ensuring successful execution across multiple concurrent initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide technical leadership across enterprise-wide insurance platform programmes.
  • Establish solution approaches that are scalable, resilient and aligned with long-term technology objectives.
  • Partner with product, delivery and business leaders to define practical technology roadmaps.
  • Review and challenge solution designs, ensuring quality, consistency and maintainability.
  • Support engineering teams by providing technical guidance throughout design, build and deployment.
  • Drive adoption of modern development practices and continuous improvement across delivery teams.
  • Work with architecture and infrastructure functions to ensure new capabilities integrate effectively with the wider technology ecosystem.
  • Identify technical risks early and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Influence technology decisions at programme and portfolio level.
  • Develop technical capability by coaching senior engineers and technical specialists.

You’ll be comfortable operating in a leadership position where strategic thinking is just as important as technical credibility. You’ll have a proven track record of delivering complex technology initiatives within regulated environments and be confident engaging with stakeholders at every level of the organisation.

Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience delivering enterprise technology solutions within the insurance sector.
  • Expert technical knowledge with Guidewire implementation using PC, CC and BC.
  • Strong knowledge of modern policy administration, billing and claims platforms.
  • Previous responsibility for leading technical teams across large transformation programmes.
  • Experience designing enterprise application landscapes and system integrations.
  • Understanding of cloud-native architecture and distributed applications.
  • Ability to influence technical direction across multiple delivery teams.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage senior business and technology leaders.
  • Experience balancing delivery priorities, technical quality and commercial objectives.
