Guidewire Technical Engineer / Developer – (Integration & InsuranceConnect)
Location: UK-based (preferred) or Remote within the EU with Travel to London required 1–2 times per month or as needed.
Contract Type: B2B / Freelance
About the Role:
We are partnering with a major insurance organisation seeking a Guidewire Technical Engineer/Developer to join a growing digital delivery team. This role focuses on the development and integration of Guidewire applications—particularly leveraging InsuranceConnect—to enhance the connectivity and automation of insurance business workflows.
You will be hands-on in delivering scalable, high-performance integrations, working with stakeholders across architecture, development, and business teams to drive critical initiatives forward.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain integration solutions using Guidewire InsuranceConnect and related technologies.
- Develop high-quality, efficient, and reusable code in Gosu, Java, and via REST/SOAP APIs.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects, solution designers, and business analysts to understand requirements and design integration points.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to integrations and services.
- Participate in deployment and post-implementation support, ensuring system stability and performance.
- Document technical specifications, processes, and configurations for knowledge sharing.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 4+ years’ experience as a Guidewire Developer / Integration Engineer.
- Strong expertise with InsuranceConnect and Guidewire platform integrations.
- Proficiency in Gosu, Java, and API development (REST & SOAP).
- In-depth understanding of ClaimCenter, PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and Digital Portals integration models.
- Comfortable working in complex, enterprise-scale environments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially in distributed teams.
- Fluent in English.
Preferred:
- Experience working with UK-based insurers or financial institutions.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Docker).
- Knowledge of messaging frameworks or middleware (Kafka, MuleSoft, etc.).
- Ability to travel to London 1–2 times per month or for key project milestones.
