Guidewire Developer (ClaimCenter)

Freelance Guidewire Developer (ClaimCenter) – (Remote within the UK only)

Engagement: B2B / Freelance Contract

Start: ASAP

We are seeking an experienced Guidewire Developer with strong expertise in ClaimCenter to support a major insurance transformation programme. The ideal consultant will have hands‑on development experience across the ClaimCenter platform, solid understanding of integration patterns, and exposure to Guidewire Cloud environments.

This is a freelance, outside IR35 engagement working directly with business and technology teams to build, extend, and optimise ClaimCenter functionality in a high‑performing Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and configure solutions within Guidewire ClaimCenter (v10+ preferred).
Build and enhance ClaimCenter components including

Claim life‑cycle workflows
FNOL and claim intake
Exposure/coverage
Claim financials and transactions
Integrations with core and third‑party systems
Develop and maintain integrations (SOAP/REST, messaging, ESB).
Customise ClaimCenter screens, rules, business logic, and data model.

Collaborate with architects, BA’s, testers and product owners to refine requirements and deliver solutions.

Troubleshoot defects, perform impact analysis, and ensure solution quality.

Contribute to Agile ceremonies and sprint planning.

Support release activities and provide technical guidance to internal teams.

Follow best practices, coding standards, and secure development principles.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years’ hands‑on Guidewire development experience.
Strong knowledge of ClaimCenter including configuration and integration.

Proficiency in:

Gosu
Java
SOAP / REST APIs
XML, JSON
Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
Strong understanding of ClaimCenter data structures and workflows.
Experience with rules engine, UI configuration, and claim financials.
Integration experience (messaging, event‑driven, web services).
Ability to work independently in a senior developer capacity on a B2B basis.

Nice‑to‑Have / Advantageous

Experience with Guidewire Cloud (Cloud upgrades, GCP, Cloud APIs, edge services, containerisation).
Experience with PolicyCenter or BillingCenter – nice but not essential.
UK General Insurance domain knowledge.
CI/CD pipeline exposure (Jenkins, Bitbucket, GitHub Actions).
Cloud platform experience (GCP preferred).
This role is delivered on a freelance B2B contract.
Fully Outside IR35.
