Job Description

The primary purpose of this position is to man the customer service desk within the bowling centre, handling cash register transactions, assigning lanes, operating the control console and overseeing shoe rentals, pro‑shop sales and facility cleanliness. The role includes providing customer support through equipment demonstrations and bowling technique instruction, ensuring rental gear is maintained, reporting any maintenance issues to supervisors, promoting leagues and special events, and securing the facility by managing opening and closing procedures, revenue, and intruder alarms.

Qualifications and Key Skills

  • Minimum 6 months general experience demonstrating the following key skills
  • Knowledge of bowling centre operations and relevant rules
  • Ability to learn or knowledge of bowling machinery, equipment and lane care
  • Experience managing cash items and using cash accountability control methods
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to deal with the public

Other Significant Facts

  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations; position may be coded as mission essential.
  • May be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft, including travel to the US or other countries for official duties or required training.
  • 6‑month probationary period.
  • Shifts will primarily be between 1500‑2300 and 0700‑1500, with start and end times possibly modified due to mission needs and the organisation’s flexible working policies.
  • Overtime may be required; may be assigned other duties not included in this description but appropriate to grade and skill set.
  • The Local National Direct Hire (LNDH) Program does not participate in regular drug testing, but may be subject to testing upon reasonable suspicion or safety mishap.
  • NOTE: A security clearance and right to work in the UK are required. Some restrictions may apply to US citizens and dual nationals under the Status of Forces Agreement.
