The primary purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive technical and administrative supervision over subordinate supervisors and workers engaged in the installation, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various electrical systems, controls, and equipment. This involves planning the utilization of personnel, equipment, facilities, and materials on a regular basis to meet established deadlines and priorities set by higher-level supervisors. The role includes assigning work, providing technical direction and assistance, investigating work-related issues to improve efficiency, and administering performance management, including development plans and constructive feedback. Furthermore, the position is responsible for fostering a work environment free from discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, and ensuring employee education and compliance with all security, safety, and health directives.
Qualifications and Key Skills
- City & Guilds/ NVQ level 3 Award in the requirements electrical installations BS 7671 - 18th Edition Regulation
- City and Guilds/NVQ Level 3 Award in an appropriate discipline, i.e Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations City & Guilds 2391.
- A valid UK CAT B driving license.
- Knowledge of a wide range of principles, processes, and techniques of trade(s) and/or craft(s) supervised and personnel management policies, practices, and procedures, including sexual harassment and Equal Employment Opportunity/ Equal Employment Treatment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures.
- Knowledge of electrical and electronic theory and instruments used in shop and trade practices, and of electrical equipment, i.e., test lamps, multimeters, circuit analyzers, circuit breaker testers, voltage recording meters, meggers, watt meters, ohmmeters, and ammeters.
- Knowledge of the use and maintenance of hand and power tools, equipment, and precision measuring and/or test equipment common to trades supervised.
- Ability to use electrical drawings, blueprints, engineering drawings, and wiring diagrams to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various electrical systems, controls, and equipment without more than normal supervision.
- Ability to plan and organize work assignments to include determining resources required to accomplish mission.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Other Significant Facts
You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations. This position may also be coded as mission essential. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft, and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period. Start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with organization’s flexible working policies. Overtime may be required and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent. Shift work may be required. You must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Position requires the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth. A flight line driving license is also required and will be issued upon employment. May work with hazardous materials such as asbestos or accumulated waste. Employee will be required to wear protective clothing and gear on these occasions. Required to maintain appropriate certifications in accordance with US and UK industry standards.

You will require a security clearance and a right to work in the UK. This position may have certain restrictions on US citizens including US dual nationals due to the Status of Forces Agreement.
