We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of Information Controllers at the 727 Air Mobility Squadron, Royal Air Force Mildenhall, United Kingdom. You will serve as an information controller within the Air Terminal Operations Center (ATOC) and perform duties that are administrative as well as receive and disseminate information from inside and outside the squadron as necessary to ensure mission accomplishment concerning the movement of cargo and passengers through the Defense Transportation System.
You will function as an Information Controller, coordinating operational activities with subordinate work centers for operational continuity, manage daily activities associated with the air movement of passengers and cargo transiting the aerial port and monitor published sequence of events and maintain surveillance over aerial port activities to ensure efficient, safe and timely execution to meet airlift schedules. You will also coordinate operational activities with subordinate sections for operational continuity by ensuring efficient, safe, and timely action to meet published airlift schedules.

What are the Key Skills required for this role?
- Knowledge of the Department of Defense Transportation System and AMC aerial port functions.
- Knowledge of transport aircraft and related load characteristics.
- Knowledge of hazardous and/or explosive cargo movement procedures and compatibility.
- Knowledge of and ability to use various automated operating systems.
- Ability to read, comprehend and use Air Force Instructions, Department of Defense (DoD)/Department of Transport (DoT) regulations/instructions, and other publications.
- Ability to recognize and deter events that can lead to aircraft departure delays and/or safety incidents and prevent them.
- Ability to make decisions without hesitation or benefit of complete information.
- Ability to use considerable tact, sound judgement and perform duties efficiently under pressure of heavy workloads, multiple operations, late changing requirements, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
What are the conditions of employment for this role?
- You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations.
- You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft, and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training, this position may also be coded as mission essential.
- You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period.
- Overtime may be required, and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- May be required to travel away from normal duty station for TDY or training as directed by management, sometimes on short notice and including overnight stays, traveling by military or commercial aircraft or by any other designated means.
- May be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
- Subject to shift work, rotating shifts, uncommon tours of duty, and emergency overtime.
- Overtime cannot be guaranteed and should not be expected.
- Work requires the employee to operate a motor vehicle. An appropriate and valid driver’s license is required for the position.
- Duties may require incumbent to work in inclement weather.
- The Local National Direct Hire (LNDH) Program does not participate in regular drug testing, however positions covered by this SCPD/CPD may be subject to drug testing upon reasonable suspicion of substance abuse, and safety mishap or accident testing.
NOTE: You will require a security clearance and a right to work in the UK. This position may have certain restrictions to US citizens including US dual nationals due to the Status of Forces Agreement.
