We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of Janitors at the 100th Force Support Squadron, Royal Air Force Mildenhall, United Kingdom. The primary purpose of this position is to perform the full range of janitorial duties in an assigned area consisting of offices, corridors, restrooms, bathrooms, laundry rooms, stairways, facilities, and other areas. The janitor will scrub, strip, wax and polish floors using industrial-type power equipment. They will report any maintenance problems, water leaks, clogged drains and other conditions requiring maintenance to the supervisor and advises supervisor when more supplies are needed or when equipment needs repair or replacement. Additionally, the will collects all dirty linen from housekeeping carts; take to the linen room to sort and put into the appropriate bins for collection. Furthermore, they will collect refuse; including recyclable items, and take to the skips located near buildings. The janitor

will also perform seasonal tasks as required, such as shovel snow, apply ice control material to entrances and walkways around assigned buildings and may occasionally work on ladders. Pick up leaves and litter around buildings, keep entrances and area around assigned buildings neat and tidy; as well as perform other related duties as required., Hours of work: Start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with organization’s flexible working policies.

Will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules, and regulations.

Must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance

May be assigned other duties that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the employee.

May be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training. Position may be coded as mission essential

A 6-month probationary period will be required

Overtime may be required

May be required to travel overnight to US or other countries in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training.

Will be required to pass a pre-employment physical examination.

The position will include exposure to pets/pet environments.

Physical effort includes heavy lifting 50 pounds or more, pushing and moving furniture.

Care must be taken, and safety equipment used when in contact with strong cleaning agents, rubber gloves will be provided. Incumbent will wear prescribed clothing provided at all times while on duty.

1.Knowledge of operating and making adjustments to power cleaning equipment.

2.Knowledge of the proper uses of a variety of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions

3.Knowledge of how to remove different kinds of stains from a wide variety of surfaces.

4.Ability to clean to a satisfactory standard.

5.Ability to complete daily checklists and reports.

Applicants who have a minimum of five years consecutive residency in the UK are considered for this position; however, those who do not meet the criteria will be considered on a case-by-case basis. All successful applicants will require a security clearance.
