We are seeking a Lead Automation Engineer responsible for leading software and automation projects within industrial control systems. The role involves developing, maintaining, and delivering PLC and SCADA applications while ensuring high-quality engineering practices, compliance with project requirements, and effective collaboration with global engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of software and automation projects within control system engineering environments.
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC and SCADA applications, including creating functions from scratch, managing source control, and ensuring code quality through industry best practices.
  • Monitor and report project progress, resource status, and provide technical input for project planning activities.
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams to ensure engineering deliverables meet contract specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Take ownership of key control system engineering deliverables, including Software Requirements Specifications (SRS), Software Design Documents, and System testing procedures.
  • Prepare and review project requirements, design specifications, software product requirements, and interface specifications.
  • Develop and review test requirements for software applications in line with defined engineering standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • ~5+ years of automation engineering experience with strong expertise in PLC and HMI/SCADA technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with PLC programming and SCADA systems (experience with TwinCAT Soft PLC and Ignition SCADA is preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, engineering processes, and quality improvement practices.
  • Proven experience delivering automation/software projects at small to medium scale.
  • Willingness to travel and work at project sites as required.
