We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Artist to join a collaborative creative and engineering team working on immersive VR experiences. This role focuses on combining artistic creativity with technical expertise to deliver high-quality, performant visuals in real-time 3D environments.

You will play a key role in shaping visual effects, shaders, and rendering performance to ensure an optimal player experience across VR platforms.

  • Create high-quality visual effects for gameplay and UI
  • Design and implement efficient rendering solutions for VR performance
  • Work with custom HLSL shaders and ensure clean, optimised implementation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve visual, technical, and performance issues
  • Collaborate with artists and engineers to improve asset pipelines and workflows
  • Contribute to procedural asset creation including textures, meshes, and sprite sheets

Requirements:

  • 2+ years' experience in a Technical Artist role
  • Animation systems
  • Experience with procedural DCC workflows (e.g. baking data into textures/meshes)
  • Strong understanding of Forward and Built-in rendering pipelines
  • Proven experience writing or working with custom HLSL shaders
  • Advanced 3D/2D asset creation experience
  • Deep knowledge of real-time rendering pipelines
  • Strong VR or mobile performance optimisation expertise
  • 3D and 2D asset creation (textures, meshes, sprite sheets)
  • Real-time rendering and performance tuning
  • Visual effects design for interactive experiences
  • Experience working in fast-paced creative or game development environments
