Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience includes paid and unpaid work, including volunteer work through national service programs. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, transcripts will be required.
- Specialized: One year of specialized experience in technical medical laboratory support work such as performing laboratory tests and examinations (chemical, microbiologic, hematologic and blood banking) and preparing reports of findings, or technical support work in a closely related field, e.g., biological laboratory technician work.
- Education: Four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to the position, such as chemistry or biological sciences.
- Combination: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage is at least 100%. Compute the percentage by dividing your total months of experience by 12, then dividing your semester hours of education beyond two years by 60, and adding the two percentages.
Transcripts may be required for education verification.
