We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading global law firm, to assist them in their search for a new Conflicts & AML Director. This is a permanent role in their London office, to work as part of their highly collaborative global team, whereby the successful applicant will be responsible for leading and shaping the firm’s approach to their risk and compliance function across the UK and EU.
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading the Conflicts, AML and New Business function.
- Setting team strategy, priorities, and standards.
- Driving continuous improvement and operational excellence across the function.
- Advising on SRA and ABA conflicts rules, confidentiality obligations, and professional responsibility.
- Advising on business acceptance matters, conflicts rules on complex cross-border matters, and waivers and engagement strategies.
- Leading conflicts matter resolutions.
- Providing guidance on engagement terms, guidelines, and amendments.
- Facilitating practical solutions to technical conflict and broader business acceptance issues.
- Building relationships and providing authoritative guidance to Partners.
- Acting as a business-enabling adviser, leading discussions, and managing disagreements between offices.
- Representing the UK/EU conflicts function in discussions.
- Overseeing AML, sanctions, and CDD frameworks.
- Owning relevant policies and procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with regulations; monitoring regulatory developments and policy procedures.
