We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading US law firm, to assist them in their search for a proactive Associate Development Manager to join their collaborative professional development team in London.

This is an exciting opportunity for an Associate Development Manager to take ownership of staffing, work allocation, integration, and professional development across the Litigation team.

The successful applicant will take a leading role within Associate development, including:

  • Working with partners and practice group leaders to manage associate work allocations.
  • Monitoring workloads and professional development to ensure an equitable allocation of assignments.
  • Tracking and analysing associate availability and utilisation metrics, ensuring individual and group productivity goals are achieved.
  • Identifying staffing needs and hiring targets, partnering with the talent team.
  • Supporting the associate performance review process, adhering to timelines.
  • Monitoring associate evaluations, preparing scripts, delivering reviews, and working with associates to implement feedback.
  • Meeting with practice group leaders to identify both those associates who are high performing and those who may be experiencing challenges so appropriate mentoring can be conducted.
  • Coordinating with the talent team to facilitate onboarding and integration for new hires; assisting with exit interviews so the firm can leverage feedback.
  • Ensuing associates obtain and maintain their license requirements.
  • Collaborating with the DEI team to implement initiatives and events, promoting best practices.
  • Collaborating with wellness teams to promote associate wellbeing.

Suitable applicants will combine knowledge of staffing and work allocation with excellent judgement, talent management, and a genuine commitment to professional development.

We are seeking candidates with strong experience managing associate development gained from within an international law firm or professional services environment, and excellent mentoring skills.

Experience supporting the litigation department or as a prior litigator would be highly advantageous.
