We are currently recruiting on behalf of a prestigious US law firm, to assist them in their search for a Research Services Manager, EMEA. The role holder will be responsible for the administrative research services and the overall management of the functions for the firms’ EMEA offices. Reporting directly for the Global Director of Research Services and working as part of the global team, the Research Services Manager will interact with fee earners, PSLs, Business Support professionals and outside vendors. Duties will include: Working closely with the Director, to update and implement department policies in accordance with established firm procedures Hiring, managing and evaluating Research Services team members across EMEA. Managing all Research Services duties. Supervising the upkeep and general maintenance of Research Services collections. Manage materials ordering with the assistance of the Resource Management Team. Providing backup cost-effective research and reference support to lawyers and professional staff in the absence of the Research Analyst, EMEA. Meeting with lawyers and practice group heads regarding anticipated needs and products. Liaising with senior stakeholders regarding new products and renewals. Meeting with vendors to review and evaluate new products and services. Preparing the annual Research Services budgets for EMEA offices and monitoring throughout the year. Planning for EMEA cataloguing projects and system upgrades as needed. Maintaining EMEA Research Services accounts and upgrades with vendors. Suitable applicants will be degree-educated with a Masters in Library Science (or similar), have gained 5 years of law library experience, and a minimum of 3 years management experience. The successful candidate will have extensive library technical skills and research knowledge, the ability to prioritise and multi-task, and knowledge of law firm budgeting.
