We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading global law firm, to assist them in their search for a new Conflicts & AML Director. This is a permanent role in their London office, to work as part of their highly collaborative global team, whereby the successful applicant will be responsible for leading and shaping the firm’s approach to their risk and compliance function across the UK and EU.
- Leading the Conflicts, AML and New Business function.
- Advising on business acceptance matters, conflicts rules on complex cross-border matters, and waivers and engagement strategies.
- Facilitating practical solutions to technical conflict and broader business acceptance issues.
- Building relationships and providing authoritative guidance to Partners.
- Acting as a business-enabling adviser, leading discussions, and managing disagreements between offices.
- Overseeing AML, sanctions, and CDD frameworks.
- Owning relevant policies and procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with regulations; monitoring regulatory developments and policy procedures.
- Delivering and overseeing training programmes and technical development activities.

Suitable candidates will be a qualified lawyer and have gained significant experience leading a team related to conflicts, risk, compliance and new business intake within a US or international law firm. We are seeking applicants with exceptional knowledge of SRA and ABA conflicts rules, experience developing policies and frameworks, and familiarity with compliance screening resources. Demonstrated experience with advisory tasks and the ability to resolve complex conflicts and business acceptance issues is crucial to the role.
