Job Description

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading global law firm, to assist them in the search for an Early Careers Assistant.

This role will be offered on an initial 14-month fixed-term contract basis, to work as part of their highly collaborative Early Careers team in the London office. This role will play a key part in the successful delivery of the Early Careers recruitment and development programmes, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience for candidates and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to candidate and stakeholder queries via email and telephone
  • Screening applications using the application tracking system
  • Assisting with organising Early Careers programmes and events, including open days, insight schemes, vacation schemes, assessment centres, and recruitment events
  • Scheduling interviews and feedback calls
  • Managing candidate administration processes
  • Co-ordinating law fairs, careers dinners, and ad-hoc recruitment events
  • Building relationships with university careers services and law societies
  • Managing onboarding processes for Early Careers joiners
  • Attending UK law fairs, careers dinners, and recruitment events, with overnight stays required during the Milkround season from September to November
  • Supporting and attending Early Careers events, such as vacation schemes, open days, insight schemes, and solicitor apprentice/trainee inductions, including evening commitments
  • Maintaining and updating the future trainee database
  • Administering payment of law school fees and maintenance grants for future trainees
  • Managing the onboarding process for trainee solicitors, ensuring smooth transitions
  • Undertaking ad hoc administration and co-ordination tasks to support the wider Early Careers team as needed

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with experience of working within an early careers team or indeed a candidate with some experience within professional services who has a strong interest in early careers, to work within a thriving team. Knowledge of the early careers market is desirable, as well as excellent communication, attention to detail and organisation skills.

A competitive salary of up to circa £38,000 is on offer, plus overtime, and 3:2 hybrid working arrangements.
