Hanover is looking for an Account Executive to join the Healthcare Policy, Advocacy & Public Affairs team. The Account Executive will play a key role in delivering high-quality monitoring, research and insight for our clients, alongside contributing to new business activity and stakeholder engagement. They will also help deliver Parliamentary and marketing events and ensure the smooth running of accounts, including coordinating meetings and materials for clients and other stakeholders. This is a fast-paced, client-facing role with opportunities to contribute ideas, shape outputs and build expertise across UK health policy, with clear opportunities for progression as you develop your skills and experience.

The Healthcare Policy, Advocacy & Public Affairs team works with leading healthcare and life sciences organisations, supporting some of the most important breakthroughs in medical science. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor UK policy, parliamentary, political and stakeholder developments, identifying what matters and translating this into clear, insightful updates for clients.
  • Take a proactive approach to identifying emerging issues, opportunities and risks, escalating these to account teams where appropriate.
  • Support the planning and delivery of Parliamentary and stakeholder events, including contributing to content, briefings and stakeholder engagement.
  • Conduct value-add research and produce high quality draft intelligence reports for clients, as well as to support tenders, pitches and new business activity.
  • Draft client materials, including meeting agendas, action notes and presentation content.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of target stakeholder and audience groups relevant to your clients and sectors.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture, supporting new colleagues, making them feel welcome and supporting their smooth transition into the team.
  • Provide flexible support to help the wider account team.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prior experience within an internship or other relevant position either in a UK public affairs consultancy, in-house public affairs department, patient group/NGO, Parliament or other relevant organisation.
  • A passion for UK politics and the changing health policy landscape, with an ability to understand and articulate what this means for healthcare and life sciences organisations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Drive to make an impact and work closely as a team.
  • Ability to work across multiple projects at any one time.
  • Understanding of what high-quality client service looks like in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organised.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage own time effectively.
  • Proactive mindset with the confidence to take ownership of tasks and suggest improvements.
  • Strong interest in UK politics and how policy impacts healthcare and life sciences organisations.
