The U.S. Embassy London's Facility Management section is looking for a skilled HVAC Technician who thrives when the pressure is on and systems need saving. If you're the person everyone calls when mechanical systems break down, and you have the commercial and residential HVAC expertise to back it up, this is your moment.
Join a dynamic team maintaining cutting-edge HVAC systems across the iconic London Embassy and all U.S. Government-owned properties. No two days are the same, duties will include:
- Root cause analysis on air conditioning, refrigeration systems, and controls.
- Work on air/water cooled chillers, direct expansion units, split systems, heat pumps, VAVs, and commercial refrigeration.
- Design and implement various HVAC solutions.
- Handle refrigerants according to regulations.
- Fault-finding and repairs across all installations.
- Scheduled and emergency maintenance to ensure 24/7 operational excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Applicants must address each required qualification listed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item. Failure to do so may result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified.
EDUCATION: Completion of Secondary School is required. Successful completion of specialised vocational training program from an accredited institute recognised as producing journeyman level HVAC mechanical technicians and mechanical system specialists trained in the maintenance of commercial or industrial buildings/facilities (a portion of the training must be in HVAC interfacing with Building Automated Systems Technology).
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 3 years experience at the journeyman level in the installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial HVAC and/or other mechanical system digital building controls with interfacing to the building automation systems. Work experience must show a progression of increased responsibility, and the ability to repair complex equipment, components, and systems.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS & ABILITIES: A successful candidate will have a broad knowledge in the operation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and residential HVAC equipment and systems. Must have a valid, current UK/EU/EEA driver licence for cat B vehicles up to 3,500 KG or an equivalent licence.
LANGUAGE: Good working knowledge of English Language written/speaking/reading. In order to translate local technical information, contract documents, and correspondence from the local language into English for the supervisory Building Engineer and the Deputy Facility Manager. (This may be tested).
