The U.S. Consulate General, Belfast, is seeking an experienced police officer, military, or security guard to provide security for Belfast personnel and facilities by conducting access control and visitor screening duties as a member of their local guard program.

The incumbent of this position shall prevent unauthorized access; protect life; maintain order; deter criminal attacks against employees, dependents and property, and terrorist acts against all U.S. assets, as well as prevent damage to Government property.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • EDUCATION: Primary school education is required.
  • EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 2-years experience in the military or as a police officer, or security guard is required.
  • JOB KNOWLEDGE: Awareness of cultural norms and customs is required.
  • LANGUAGE: Good working knowledge of English; speaking, reading & writing is required (this may be tested).
  • SKILLS & ABILITIES: Ability to stay alert at all times. Ability and willingness to learn and enforce safety procedures. Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Basic computer skills are required. A full current UK/EU/EEA manual driving license is required.
