Urus Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a client known for delivering high-quality prototype and low-volume production work. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Sheet Metal Welder / Fabricator to join a modern, fast-paced workshop with excellent long-term prospects.
The Role
As a Welder / Fabricator, you will be responsible for producing high-quality fabricated components and assemblies while working from detailed engineering drawings.
Duties Include:
- TIG and MIG welding of stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel
- Fabrication work on materials from 1.0mm to 12mm thickness
- Welding sub-assemblies and main assemblies using jigs or freehand methods
- Pipework fabrication and welding
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and tolerances
- Sanding and grinding components to required finish standards
- Building assembly weld fixtures
- Supporting continuous improvement within the workshop
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience in thin gauge TIG & MIG welding
- Proven sheet metal fabrication experience
- Ability to work confidently from engineering drawings
- Experience working with stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel
- Good attention to detail and quality standards
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
- Engineering apprenticeship or City & Guilds welding/fabrication qualifications desirable
