Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Gate Engineer to oversee the installation, operation, maintenance, and security of automatic gates, traffic barriers, speed lanes, bollards and access control systems across various locations. This vital role involves managing gate operations, ensuring the safety and security of the premises, and maintaining all related hardware and network systems. The Gate Engineer will play a key part in safeguarding assets while supporting efficient traffic flow through the systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply technical expertise in a dynamic environment dedicated to safety, security, and operational excellence. Duties Install, troubleshoot, and maintain automatic gate access control systems, barriers and turnstiles. Conduct regular inspections of mechanical components such as gates, locks and hardware to ensure optimal performance. Manage electrical systems associated with gate operations, including wiring, power supplies, and circuit boards. Utilise schematics and system design documents to diagnose issues and implement repairs or upgrades. Operate power tools and hand tools safely for installation or repair tasks on site or in construction settings. Collaborate with telecommunication teams to ensure seamless communication between security systems and central monitoring stations. Qualifications Proven experience with electrical systems related to security infrastructure. Mechanical knowledge combined with construction experience is highly desirable. Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, and installation equipment required for system setup or repairs. Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on system troubleshooting and preventative maintenance. DHF certification is preferred.
