Locum Practice Nurse – Immediate Start

Location: Reading, Berkshire

Rate: £25.00-£32.00, Experience and Skills dependant.

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Locum Practice Nurse to join a friendly and supportive GP practice team in Sunderland. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled nurse looking to work in a dynamic primary care setting on a flexible locum basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing routine nursing care to patients including wound care, immunisations, travel vaccines, cervical cytology (smears), and health screenings.
  • Chronic disease management (e.g. asthma, diabetes, hypertension).
  • Assisting in the management of long-term conditions in collaboration with GPs.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records using clinical systems (e.g., EMIS, SystmOne, or Vision).
  • Promoting health education and disease prevention.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC PIN.
  • Previous experience working as a Practice Nurse in a GP surgery or primary care setting.
  • Competent in all standard treatment room duties and chronic disease management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
