Reports to: Practice Manager / Lead Nurse

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our healthcare team. The Practice Nurse will work closely with our General Practitioners (GPs) and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to patients in a community setting. The role involves carrying out clinical duties such as administering vaccinations, assisting with chronic disease management, and providing health education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine health checks, blood pressure monitoring, and basic medical assessments.
  • Administer vaccinations (e.g., flu, childhood immunizations).
  • Assist in the management of long-term conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, and hypertension.
  • Provide wound care, dressing changes, and removal of sutures.
  • Take blood samples and perform basic laboratory tests.
  • Assist in minor surgical procedures as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) pin.
  • Experience working in a general practice or primary care setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of current nursing practices and relevant clinical guidelines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage patient care efficiently and demonstrate empathy.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification and knowledge of infection control procedures.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
