Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our healthcare team. The Practice Nurse will work closely with our General Practitioners (GPs) and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to patients in a community setting. The role involves carrying out clinical duties such as administering vaccinations, assisting with chronic disease management, and providing health education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine health checks, blood pressure monitoring, and basic medical assessments.
- Administer vaccinations (e.g., flu, childhood immunizations).
- Assist in the management of long-term conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, and hypertension.
- Provide wound care, dressing changes, and removal of sutures.
- Take blood samples and perform basic laboratory tests.
- Assist in minor surgical procedures as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) pin.
- Experience working in a general practice or primary care setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of current nursing practices and relevant clinical guidelines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage patient care efficiently and demonstrate empathy.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification and knowledge of infection control procedures.
- Organizational skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
