Urenco is a global leader in the production of low carbon energy. We work at the cutting edge of the transition to a sustainable, net zero world. We are seeking a Management Systems Controller based at our Capenhurst site. Reporting to the Capenhurst Management Systems Manager, you will lead the ongoing development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Capenhurst Management System. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting safe, compliant, efficient, and reliable operations across Enrichment, Chemical Process Operations, Waste and Decommissioning, and Site Shared Services, including Group Services where appropriate.

At Urenco we’re committed to giving you opportunities to be your best. If you feel you meet some, but not all of what we’re looking for, please still apply. We believe in embracing the passion and potential of our people, and to achieve this we offer market leading training and development experiences, along with the opportunity to be mentored and coached by some of the smartest minds in the industry.

What you’ll do:

  • Management System Control & Governance: Maintain overall control of the Capenhurst Business Management System (BMS), ensuring alignment with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, relevant site licence conditions and regulatory standards. Lead the management system governance workflow, ensuring site arrangements remain current, effective and aligned with regulatory and business requirements.
  • Process Design & Continuous Improvement: Lead the design, documentation, and optimisation of business processes using process modelling techniques. Facilitate workshops with key stakeholders and deliver training and education on the value and application of process modelling. Apply and maintain governance controls over process models to ensure ongoing compliance and consistency.
  • Quality Assurance & Document Control: Perform quality reviews of all arrangements as part of the approval and publication process, ensuring compliance with management system standards. Provide clear, consistent and actionable feedback to enable timely progression of documents through review to publication.
  • Performance Reporting & Compliance Oversight: Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that feed into site-wide KPIs and support continuous improvement. Promote site-wide awareness of BMS usage, document currency and potential compliance risks. Engage with stakeholders at all levels and play an active role in surveillance and recertification audits.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Site Integration: Work closely with stakeholders across Capenhurst to ensure the BMS reflects the full scope of site operations. Drive a “One Capenhurst” approach, enabling a single ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification for the site.

What do you need to thrive in this role?

  • A relevant technical qualification or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrable experience working within a regulated industry and/or within a certified management system.
  • Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience working in a complex organisation, interacting with and influencing varied teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience managing or maintaining software systems where data accuracy, integrity, and audit trails are important.
  • Experience using process modelling tools such as ARIS, or similar (e.g. Signavio, Visio), or a willingness to learn.

What can you expect from us?

  • Annual leave starting at 25 days, increasing by one day for every two years of service, up to a maximum of 30 days.
  • An additional 13 flexible days off, plus the option to buy or sell up to 5 days of annual leave through our holiday trading scheme.
  • A wide range of family-friendly policies to support work–life balance at every stage of life.
  • A generous bonus scheme recognising performance and contribution.
  • A defined contribution pension scheme, with up to 16% employer contribution.
  • Single private medical and dental cover.
  • Access to a flexible benefits package, including life assurance and income protection, with the option to purchase additional benefits tailored to your lifestyle while benefiting from tax and National Insurance savings.

Learning & Development: A strong commitment to education and training, supporting continuous learning and professional growth. Alongside mandatory health and safety training, tailored development programmes will be offered to meet your individual needs and career goals.

Security vetting: Due to the nature of the industry that Urenco operates in, all personnel regardless of employment status working for Urenco are required to obtain security clearance at the level required for their role. Security clearances are assessed in accordance with regulations and official guidance issued by the relevant competent authorities for national security vetting. In certain circumstances, additional enhanced security clearance considerations apply to roles within Urenco owing to the particular activities that the Urenco Group undertakes in relation to uranium enrichment. Successful candidates will need to satisfy security requirements, and all offers of appointment are made subject to the successful approval of all checks initiated.

Putting people at the heart of our business, we strive to create an open and inclusive workplace that allows every voice to be heard and diversity to thrive. If you require any reasonable adjustments to the recruitment process, please let our talent acquisition team know.

How to Apply: Urenco is committed to encouraging equality and diversity within our workforce. Are you enthusiastic about this position and you don’t meet every single requirement? The real fit for a job is not always in your current experience or education. We are striving towards strong, diverse and complementary teams, in an inclusive and authentic workplace. So if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway.
