This role is a Control, Electrical & Instrumentation Placement with Urenco with a bias towards Instrumentation, as part of an undergraduate degree. This Programme is designed to give you the opportunity to gain real, hands-on experience, bridging the gap between university learning and real-world engineering by working alongside our engineering teams in an operational environment.

The job holder will support, under supervision, the Plant Facing Team in:

  • Ownership for the engineering, design and implementation of new and improvement of existing CE&I systems, processes and software.
  • Involvement in the design and implementation of small to medium sized projects.
  • Providing technical troubleshooting support for plant operation.
  • Increasing productivity and efficiency of the plant whilst maintaining operational safety.

Qualifications:

  • Completed 2 or 3 years of a degree in Electrical or Control and Instrumentation Engineering (or similar).
  • No plant experience is required, but relevant experience will be considered beneficial.
  • An interest in large scale chemical processes.

Offers will be confirmed in May 2026, with successful placement students joining us in July 2026 (On condition of successfully obtaining required level of security clearance).

Due to the nature of the industry URENCO operates in, all personnel regardless of employment status are required to obtain security clearance at the level required for their role. Security clearances are assessed in accordance with official guidance and regulation. In certain circumstances, additional enhanced considerations apply to roles within URENCO owing to the particular activities that the URENCO Group undertakes in relation to uranium enrichment. Success candidates will need to satisfy security requirements, and all offers of appointment are made subject to the successful approval of all checks initiated.
