We’re looking for a Head of Operational Excellence Capenhurst.

Based at our Capenhurst site, you’ll be responsible for developing, embedding, and sustaining a high-performance operational excellence culture across the site.

The role enables the transformation of operational performance through the implementation of continuous improvement methodologies, standardised management systems, and behavioural change programmes that enhance safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people performance.

  • What You’ll Do
  • Support develop and implementation of the site's Operational Excellence strategy aligned to business objectives.
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, problem-solving, and operational discipline.
  • Establish operational excellence as a core leadership expectation throughout the organisation.
  • Champion employee engagement in continuous improvement initiatives across all site functions.
  • Act as the site's subject matter expert for Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, and Performance Excellence methodologies.

What do you need to thrive in this role?

  • Significant leadership experience in Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, Manufacturing Excellence, or Business Transformation within a complex industrial environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering substantial and sustainable cost savings through improvement programmes.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cultural and organisational change.
  • Experience managing portfolios of cross-functional improvement projects.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, or operations environments.
  • Experience influencing and engaging senior stakeholders.

What can you expect from us?

  • A generous shift allowance of £14,702 per annum.
  • Annual leave starting at 25 days, which increases by one day for every two years of service, up to a maximum of 30 days.

In addition, you will accrue 13 additional days off to be used flexibly.

There’s also a newly added scheme for buying and selling holiday, up to 5 days.

Security vetting

Due to the nature of the industry that Urenco operates in, all personnel regardless of employment status working for Urenco are required to obtain security clearance at the level required for their role.

Security clearances are assessed in accordance with regulations and official guidance issued by the relevant competent authorities for national security vetting.

In certain circumstances, additional enhanced security clearance considerations apply to roles within Urenco owing to the particular activities that the Urenco Group undertakes in relation to uranium enrichment.

Successful candidates will need to satisfy security requirements, and all offers of appointment are made subject to the successful approval of all checks initiated.
