We’re looking for a Business Development Partner for Government Projects. Based at our Paddington site you’ll be accountable for engaging externally with government officials to support Urenco’s business development objectives and support/advise on all activities and interfaces to ensure consistency and alignment. Whilst the role is predominantly focused on the UK, it does not preclude the requirement to engage on a more global basis.
You will deputise for the BD Director (Government) so you need to have the aptitude to lead and manage delivery in their absence—working with both internal and external stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
- Support and lead on all business development projects that interface with UK Government.
- Develop core understanding of the client and government needs, maintaining balance in Urenco’s requirements and expectations, escalating issues and identifying solutions with input from BD Director.
- Act as key interface ensuring reporting data is collated, support in the production of transparent, accurate reporting – presenting data up to board-level stakeholders.
- Demonstrate an appropriate aptitude and behaviour for this role considering the variety of stakeholders.
What do you need to thrive in this role?
- Experience working in Government affairs, as a Civil Servant or in a senior business development role on government projects.
- Excellent cultural and political awareness, and used to working with different cultures and with different political systems.
- Experience in working with and partnering senior stakeholders up to and including Board and CEO level.
- Ability to work under pressure against hard deadlines, whilst maintaining very good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good work management skills including the ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously.

Security Vetting
Due to the nature of the industry that Urenco operates in, all personnel regardless of employment status working for Urenco are required to obtain security clearance at the level required for their role. Security clearances are assessed in accordance with regulations and official guidance issued by the relevant competent authorities for national security vetting. In certain circumstances, additional enhanced security clearance considerations apply to roles within Urenco owing to the particular activities that the Urenco Group undertakes in relation to uranium enrichment. Successful candidates will need to satisfy security requirements, and all offers of appointment are made subject to the successful approval of all checks initiated.
