Roles and responsibilities:
- Prepare reports and front-end studies including capital cost estimates, project schedules, material take-offs and out to tender schedules.
- Prepare technical and contract documentation for issue and analyse returned tenders.
- Keep the delivery schedule up to date to control deliveries.
- Clarify queries with the Design team through the request for information (RFI) system.
- Monitor progress against the programme and issue progress reports.
- Produce look ahead programmes to assist production.
- Prepare method statements and risk assessments for production activities.
- Carry out Quality Control through inspections and snagging.
- Conduct document control, recording and transmitting information.
- Liaise and coordinate with clients, design team and contractors on technical and commercial issues.
- Take responsibility for health and safety on site and lead by example.
- Supervise construction activities, organising workers, plant, machinery and materials.
- Coordinate with other crafts working on a job site to ensure smooth transitions and identify materials and equipment that may be required.
- Ensure construction is carried out accurately, following plans and specifications.
- Conduct quality control inspections on and off project sites.
- Ensure that contractor activities are properly coordinated.
- Ensure that tasks are completed on time and to the required quality standards.
- Analyse and quickly resolve any work problems that may arise and ensure that all deficiencies on any given project are corrected in a timely manner.
- Ensure handover documentation is presented in a specific format and timelines.
- Maintain detailed and accurate site reports.
- Communicate project progress to key stakeholders, such as the client, architects, and engineers.
Experience Required:
- 7 plus years experience in a supervisory role or engineering.
- Ability to manage subcontractors.
- Technical understanding of electrical systems.
- Proactive people management.
- Data Centre experience is preferable.
