URL have been procured to assist one of its most respected clients to source a high profile Commercial Manager to join its highly successful TSC contract. The client in question is a worldwide infrastructure business with many blue chip clients on board. They have an enviable reputation for engineering excellence.
For the role, they are looking for someone who has had previous experience of leading a commercial team and has excellent knowledge of the NEC Contract, in particular the Term Services Contract. You will be required to lead and develop a team in their function of maintaining contract documentation, instructions, early warnings, and compensation events.
Key responsibilities include:
- Having a clear appreciation of the management of risk and opportunity.
- Supporting the Business Unit Manager in his role as risk manager.
- Ensuring excellent communication skills and dealing with commercial matters in a pragmatic and effective manner.
- Having in-depth knowledge of highway maintenance contracts.
At all times, you should behave in a way that supports the company’s stated Vision and Values and ensure all team members do likewise. It is essential to adhere to company procedures with regard to Health & Safety.
It is essential that you have demonstrable experience of working for a contractor and hold a Degree or Post Graduate qualification in Quantity Surveying, or an associated construction-related qualification. A high level of proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word is required for this role. A full UK driving license is essential as a level of travel will be required.
