URBOND Community Integration Coordinator

Location: City Buildings, Lake Road, Portsmouth, PO1 4BD and local area.

Employment type: Full‑time – 37.5 hours per week.

Working pattern: Variation, office based with regular visits to partners across Portsmouth. Evening and weekend work is required, managed week‑by‑week depending on activities being delivered.

Salary: Offered subject to qualifications and experience.

Responsible to: URBOND Management Team.

DBS requirement: Enhanced DBS and Adults’ and Children’s Barred Lists checks.

Our community integration strand requires the successful candidate to identify and connect community groups, build partnerships with local organisations, support individuals to overcome barriers, and design, deliver, and attend workshops.

  • Mental and physical health workshops
  • Education and employment support

  • Community food support and sustainability
  • The Restorative Forum – community leaders and local partners

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, deliver and evaluate community integration programme delivery.
  • Design and deliver workshops on topics directly affecting our community.
  • Identify key community groups, build relationships and create links to strengthen the wider network.
  • Publicise URBOND’s events and programmes to relevant community groups, ensuring those who can benefit are aware and able to access them.
  • Support individuals to develop personalised integration plans covering employment, education, housing, healthcare and social engagement.
  • Promote inclusion and equality by identifying and addressing barriers in community life.
  • Maintain accurate records, prepare reports and track outcomes for programme evaluation and funding.
  • Participate in regular training and any other requirements as directed by URBOND.

What we are looking for

  • Experience working with diverse communities, including individuals facing barriers to integration.
  • Demonstrable experience designing and delivering community workshops or group sessions.
  • Ability to identify and build sustained relationships with community groups and partner organisations.
  • Knowledge of community resources, local services and the voluntary sector in Portsmouth.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and relationship‑building skills.
  • Enthusiastic and self‑motivated, with the drive to deliver both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
  • A problem‑solving mindset and resourcefulness when supporting participants.
  • Commitment to inclusion, equality and community advocacy.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by the programme schedule.
