Role Summary
As Ecommerce Manager, you'll shape how Urban Outfitters EU customers experience the site turning buying strategy into a customer experience that actually works. That means owning how people discover, browse and connect with product online, and making sure our navigation, categorisation, personalisation and site design feel inspiring and community-led, not just functional.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leadership & Strategic Direction
Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of five across different disciplines, building a culture that's efficient, collaborative and genuinely good to work in. - Strategic Partnerships: Act as the main link between Buying, Planning and Creative, turning product strategy into a consistent, on-brand digital experience across our EU markets.
- Vision Ownership: Set the long-term direction for the EU site experience, spotting opportunities to improve the customer journey ahead of competitors and market shifts.
- Site Strategy & Navigation
Navigation Architecture: Own the EU navigation strategy from start to finish, managing seasonal updates and market-specific categorisation so each market feels properly local. - Conversion Optimisation: Analyse site data to work out how products should be presented within categories, improving conversion and the user experience across devices.
- Search & Discovery: Own site taxonomy and internal search, continually refining the strategy behind making it easy to find product.
- Personalisation & Digital Execution
Personalisation Strategy: Own the content personalisation strategy end to end through Dynamic Yield, using customer data and behavioural insight to deliver tailored on-site experiences that lift relevance, engagement and conversion across the EU. - Content Build & QA: Oversee the build and QA of all site and app content, keeping it on-brand and fully functional. Lead the European content strategy and report in depth on how it's performing.
- Trading Support: Manage digital-only promotions, markdown events and major product launches.
- Visual Merchandising & Community-Led Growth
UGC Strategy & Project Ownership: Own the on-site UGC strategy from concept through to delivery, spotting opportunities, building the roadmap, and working across teams to turn customer content into a real driver of engagement and conversion. - Visual Merchandising: Own the landing page layout strategy, making sure every page tells a consistent, on-brand story that supports discovery and a sense of community.
- Insights & Innovation
Performance Analysis: Provide weekly and monthly reporting on site performance, turning the data into clear, proactive recommendations across product, category, trend and search. - Trend Awareness: Keep on top of digital retail trends, personalisation technology and what competitors are doing, so Urban Outfitters stays ahead.
What You'll Need
- Proven experience running a personalisation programme end to end, ideally on a platform such as Dynamic Yield, with a track record of turning customer data into measurable gains in engagement and conversion.
- A strategic mindset, someone who sets direction rather than just delivers against a brief, and spots opportunities ahead of the curve.
- Hands-on experience building a UGC or community-content strategy from scratch, with clear ownership of the roadmap and delivery across teams.
- A strong track record of leading and developing a team, and the confidence to manage senior stakeholders across Buying, Planning and Creative.
