The predicted salary is between 40000 - 50000 £ per year.

Location: Canary Wharf, London

Salary starting: Competitive plus discretionary bonus

Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Maintenance Operative work 5 days out of 7, between the hours of 7:30am - 8:30pm. You will be required to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.

As a Maintenance Supervisor you will lead and support our Maintenance Operatives and Maintenance Managers, ensuring high standards of service, safety, and professionalism in your designated community. As a role model of our values, you’ll build strong relationships with residents, colleagues, and contractors, while driving operational excellence through proactive maintenance, compliance, and team development. This is a hands-on leadership role where your contribution will directly impact the quality of our living environments and the satisfaction of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Experience of line management of three Maintenance Operatives, including performance, development, and daily oversight.
  • Provide direct support to the Maintenance Managers and step into the senior role during periods of absence or annual leave.
  • Deliver training and development for your team, including supporting our internal Learning Academy.
  • Support all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive Maintenance (RM), and lifecycle works to ensure efficient property operations.
  • Allocate and distribute maintenance tasks across customer areas and urbanest properties.
  • Assist with maintenance turnaround processes and operational readiness to support occupancy targets.
  • Provide technical support across private and commercial residences.
  • Support site compliance activities, including insurance, RPS, BHI, and Focus audits—taking responsibility for allocated audits based on your expertise.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are met across the property, including completion of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Provide site support for Legionella controls.
  • Help the property achieve a minimum CAFM compliance score of 85% through accurate system use and data entry.
  • Support completion of audit actions within agreed timelines.
  • Work closely with external contractors to ensure smooth maintenance operations.
  • Support wider stakeholders across the Canary Wharf estate, providing a reliable point of contact for all maintenance-related queries.
  • Work collaboratively with Customer and Night Teams to provide outstanding 24/7 support for residents.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow GDPR guidelines (training provided).
  • Observe and guide maintenance team interactions with residents to continuously improve service standards and NPS performance.
Skills and Experience we’re looking for:
  • Experience in Facilities, Estates, or Maintenance with a proven track record of maintaining properties to an exceptional standard.
  • Knowledge and experience on basic plumbing, plastering, carpentry, painting and repairs.
  • Experience with training and managing employees.
  • Able to help provide the best resident experience with a calm, positive attitude.
  • Sensible under pressure and confident in solving problems and finding solutions.
  • Friendly and welcoming to residents, visitors, and contractors.
  • Strong organizational skills and able to work through tasks within set timeframes.
  • A great timekeeper with a flexible approach to work.
  • Computer literate with a willingness to learn new systems.
  • Experience with large plant systems, BMS systems.
