OVERVIEW

The purpose of the role is to provide planning advice and manage all aspects of planning projects to support the overall objectives of the business. Reporting to Senior Area Planning Director / Planning & Operations Director. This role will be covering primarily the eastern half of the central patch.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide planning advice;
  • Assist other members of the planning team;
  • Undertake planning reviews of new sites;
  • Lead planning projects;
  • Prepare site promotion strategies;
  • Prepare and agree project programmes and budgets;
  • Instruct and manage external professional teams;
  • Coordinate, collate and submit planning representations and applications;
  • Chair regular planning and project review meetings;
  • Negotiate commercially viable planning consents and S106 agreements;
  • Proactively work on business development and site finding exercises;
  • Communicate relevant planning / policy news, intelligence and developments.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience – Prior planning role, either with a planning consultancy, land promoter, housebuilder or developer - ideally with experience in residential development / strategic land promotion.
  • Skills – Project management, people / team management, negotiation, strategy formation, commerciality.
  • Qualifications – Bachelor’s degree and / or MRTPI (or equivalent) professional accreditation.
