We’re looking for a General Manager to oversee all aspects of management across our residential site in Stratford, London! Our Rondo luxury new Build to Rent development is a stylish development with 301 units under management. There is an exciting array of amenities for our residents including a gym, gym studio, cinema room, private dining rooms and workspaces, resident lounges, terraces, as well as 24/7 concierge and onsite maintenance. The role requires a 40-hour working week with occasional weekends.
What you’ll do:
- Be solely responsible for delivering all aspects of the operational and budgetary management of the development, including the delivery of high-quality customer service.
- Deliver consistently high standards of resident service.
- Provide inspirational leadership to a highly motivated team committed to continuous improvement, outstanding performance, and excellent resident satisfaction.
- Ensure the team operates with clear processes and procedures with inbuilt measures of quality and control, acting as coach and mentor.
- Maintain a legally and regulatory compliant building by ensuring all health and safety matters are inspected, monitored, and actioned appropriately.
- Create a sense of community within the building by fostering resident interaction online (e.g., via social media) or through hosting events.
- Ensure occupancy absorption rates meet targets; rents are collected on time, ancillary income targets are met, while minimizing costs and containing gross to net leakage through effective operational management.
- Work with colleagues to identify opportunities to simplify and improve operational processes to enhance customer service, including dealing with complaints and resolving tenant and staff issues.
- Develop and implement reporting of Key Performance Indicators to monitor operational effectiveness.
- Be a brand guardian by overseeing communication, tone of voice, and maintaining commercial awareness across all online platforms.
- Act as a role model for organizational values and key behaviors, utilizing effective two-way communication, and fostering a motivated team with positive staff engagement.
- Recruit, develop, and retain talent by promoting peak performance through effective people management, including one-to-one reviews.
What we are looking for:
- Comparable experience in a managerial role leading operational teams, preferably in residential property, student accommodation, or hotels.
- Lettings experience and a track record of driving targets to manage and lead teams providing consistent, efficient, high-quality customer service.
- Experience delivering outstanding customer service, including negotiation skills and handling difficult situations.
- Experience managing effective client relationships.
- Knowledge and experience of managing large budgets.
- Experience managing health & safety and compliance within a residential building, with proficient knowledge of legislation.
- Health & Safety qualification (desirable).
