We are looking for a Maintenance Operative to assist in the day‑to‑day presentation and maintenance of our luxury development New Acres in Wandsworth, London. The role ensures client, colleague and resident safety and comfort, and requires basic knowledge of health & safety, fire safety, plumbing, heating systems, plastering, painting, minor electrical and general maintenance. This is a 24‑hour role, working Monday to Wednesday.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure works are completed to a high standard and within realistic time frames
  • Maintain stock, tools and materials to an acceptable level and usable standard
  • Communicate effectively and continuously with the maintenance manager and other departments as required
  • Inform the company of any additional works needed at the location
  • Work well independently while supporting team members and goals
  • Ensure all works comply with HSE and water bye‑laws
  • Respond effectively to emergency call‑outs and situations
  • Provide general maintenance assistance to residents, including furniture building and storage, hanging pictures and items, and help with familiarisation of their new apartment and systems
  • Be flexible and adaptive to site needs, supporting the team with ad‑hoc duties such as manning the front reception desk, assisting with general enquiries and supporting the housekeeper

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a customer‑facing role
  • Already working within a maintenance role in residential properties or student accommodation
  • Able to use general hand tools
  • Comfortable with manual handling
  • Comfortable working at height
  • Basic painting skills
  • Able to work alone or as part of a team
  • Strong understanding of COSHH
